I found this farm in Clarington ages ago and I always meant to go and take photos there. Well, I finally braved the time it took to get there and snapped some shots. So worth it! Just look at those amazing colours! I think it is safe to say that I am in love with this coat. I usually don't name drop on brands but it's Steve Madden... and I got it half off! What a steal! Cheap AND good quality? That's my kind of shopping.
Coat - ModCloth (the only one I seem to wear on a daily basis now)

(I would link you to the items, however, they are tough to find)
I finally forced myself to get outside and take photos in the freezing cold! Yay! Wasn't so bad... for the first 5 minutes, and then I had to book it to the car haha. We have been getting almost every day, with the wind chill, around -20 to -30 degrees celsius. Yet another reason I took the week off last week haha. While I was home over the break, my mom gave me a bunch of her old knit sweaters. They are so cozy and give a great winter spin to regular outfits I would have worn in the fall. I just LOVE the huge collar on this one in particular. Enjoy the pictures!
HAPPY NEW YEARS!
So I must admit that I am not entirely thrilled with the photos I took for this shoot, but I did not want them to go to waste, so I tried to use photoshop to fix them up. I'm usually a perfectionist and take photos until I am completely content, nevertheless, it was freezing and I was not properly dressed so I escaped as quickly as I could.
Well, at least the outfit looked cute!
Boxing Day was spent productively while I experimented with a new knitting technique... in these pictures I am wearing the result. It took a couple of tries, but I eventually figured it out! It's been weird not having anything specific to do over the break; I'm one of those weird people that can't really relax and needs to be kept busy to be happy... hence the mad knitting and binge watching of Gilmore Girls. Enjoy!
School is officially out for the break! On Sunday Dayna and her boyfriend Will were kind enough to take some pics of my outfit for the blog! It was a nice way to send her off before we all went out separate ways. The weather has been surprisingly mild for the week of Christmas... you would assume that by living in Canada every Christmas would be white, but sadly this is not reality. On a positive note, I was not restricted to wearing a coat for the pics! Yay! Enjoy the photos!

Christmas Break is fast approaching! It's unbelievable how quickly the last three and a half months have passed. Where has the time gone? I feel like so much has happened since the summer, and yet, upon reflection, nothing monumental has truly occurred. Emotionally, I feel much stronger than I felt five to six months ago, which is comforting. I believe this is in large part due to my recent plans of living abroad next year. This newfound excitement at next year's prospects has given me an extra bounce in my step. This weekend I visited family and discovered that those straw barrels are actually more accessible than I thought; I thought that in order to take photos with them I would have had to cross private property. Well, the ones I found were just hanging out in my neighbourhood. Cool! A lucky find. The dress I am wearing was actually purchased over the summer after a post I saw that The Clothes Horse had made. It was so cute, I couldn't resist. Enjoy!
Dress - Sheinside
This was more of a fashion post... but then I decided to use my drumsticks because they no longer serve a purpose. You see, they broke two days ago. My first pair! So sad...
Any who... I wanted to use this opportunity to showcase the cute necklace I had been eyeing for a month and finally decided to get. I paired it with some triangle earrings I got from Urban Outfitters and my M.A.C lipstick.
This weekend I sported my new favourite purse I got on sale at Aldo. How cute is it!? I decided to pair it with ModCloth's tulle skirt and a dress I got from them ages ago. Enjoy!
This weekend was my first 8k run. And guess what? The three of us teachers completed it! YAHOO! Next step? A 10k! (When the spring comes around because, let's face it, running outside in the cold isn't fun and those runners who do it in -10 degrees and over are, in the words of my students, "cray cray".) This week has been much warmer than the last, which made my photo-taking session yesterday much more pleasant than I had anticipated. While out it began to snow like crazy... it was the kind of snow that could have easily been rain, had it not been close to the 0 degree mark. It was because of this iffy weather ("Will it rain? Snow? TELL ME!") that I wore a rain coat along with the whole scarf, hat, mittens, and winter boot combo haha. Enjoy!
I had anticipated this weekend to be full of laundry and binge watching television, nevertheless an opportunity presented itself and I headed down to Niagara on Saturday for a friend's friend's birthday. While down there we stopped at the Niagara outlets where Hillary kindly took some shots of my outfit; it was FREEZING!! I am still shocked I wore merely a denim jacket for the shoot.
We headed to a nice restaurant where I met up with my brother who I hadn't seen in some time. On Sunday I ran a 5 km race in the snow!! I bundled up like the Michelin Man and, with fellow fitness enthusiasts, we paced ourselves while battling a biting wind and snow. Despite the chill, the scenery was picturesque and I was able to complete the race at 30 minutes and 37 seconds! I placed 27th out of 74 women that competed and placed 4th out of 13 people in my age group. Cool! Next weekend will be an 8km run... I must train in order to keep the lungs in shape.
