This weekend I went up to the cottage with a bunch of the girls I work with. We had a really relaxing weekend and watched way too many chick flicks haha. Overall we had a great time and, although it rained/snowed, we managed to make the most of it.
Today is Remembrance Day. We commemorate all those who have served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict, and peace.
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.
As you guessed it (if you haven't already) I am Dr. Who's TARDIS! I decided to go time traveling, as the TARDIS does, and here are the places I visited...
(Before you tell me, yes I know the sign is on the wrong side... oops)
I visited the Wild West!
I visited a castle...
I went back in time to 1789 to check out the French Revolution...
I made an interplanetary trip to Mars!
I even went back in time to visit the 11th Doctor, Amy, and Rory... Oh no!!! We are surrounded by Daleks... but that's cool.
Whole outfit from Ardene and Urban Behavior for under $20!!!! What a steal!
Have a wonderful Friday!
On Friday some friends and I decided to go to a pumpkin patch (insert Charlie Brown song). It was so much fun!! We checked out the corn maze, which was pretty cool cause it was shaped like some musical instruments. We had to fill out this quiz sheet by trying to locate the different posts in the maze. Well, even with a map we got pretty horribly lost and didn't end up finding all the posts. We were in the maze for about an hour and a half before finally locating another vowel. We were trying to solve the mystery (all the letters in the answers on the posts spelled something) when finally we decided to read the clue... yes, we had forgotten there was a clue. Well, wouldn't you know, we didn't even need to locate the posts to solve the riddle. The question? What will be made once the corn is harvested? Yep, you guessed it: Corn Starch.

Today was the first in four days where it didn't rain! So what did I do? You guessed it! I had been trying really hard to put outfits together Monday and Tuesday in the hopes of taking photos those days, but alas, the photography sessions didn't pan out. Today, however, did! And now I have two other outfits in mind for future pictures! Hope you enjoy!
This weekend I went back home to see the fam jam. Working with kindergarteners every day has made me susceptible to catching whatever it is they're brewing, so I took a couple of days off last week and went home this weekend to hang out with my mom and dad, while my mom fed me her Palaeolithic diet of veggies and meat... I ate the last chocolate in the house, cause it was the only thing with sugar. The colours are just AMAZING right now so, naturally, I had to break out the camera and take some photos. I was not properly dressed, however, and regretted my light jacket and translucent tights, but it was worth it. Just look at the red and gold!
Today was a sick day, however, I tried to take advantage of my time off by updating my blog. As I mentioned, this weekend was a wonderful opportunity to see family and to reconnect with old friends. I convinced my mom to go out hiking. While out driving, I got us lost trying to find the entrance to the trail. In my experience, getting lost is always the best way to discover a place and wow, did we ever discover something. As we drive down the road lined with cascading trees, the street dipped down only to reveal before us the glorious escarpment in a way I had never seen it before. It was like we were suddenly in British Columbia... I swear. Gorgeous. Sadly, I couldn't capture the shot because both hands were on the wheel, but it was really a sight to behold and I can't wait to go back and check it out. We eventually found the trail and my mom took some pics of me while we were out on our hike.

This weekend was spent with my family, I had not seen them since my cousin's wedding my mom and I attended late September, so it was nice to catch up and spend time together. While visiting, I took advantage of the amazing weather we had on Saturday and Sunday and went exploring along the local trail near our home. The fall colours were just amazing! What a great weekend.
Fall is here! My favourite season! I have been waiting for a nice day to go and take photos and today was the day. My friend Katrina and I went after school for some photos in the beautiful conservation area near our school, in the hopes of finding those beautiful fall colours. I decided to take the chrysanthemums along, which I had purchased for the students. You see, do to some incidences in the classroom I decided to read to them the story of Chrysanthemum under the guise of a lesson on "audience and purpose". The students did not know what a mum was, so I brought them into the classroom to show them. The colours contrasted beautifully with the outfit I was wearing and so I decided to bring them as a prop. Enjoy!

Nothing has affected me as much as my year abroad. In my third year at university I went to Lyon, France for a student exchange. I attended "L'université de lumière Lyon 2", traveled to some pretty incredible place, and met some amazing and life-long friends. That year is ingrained in my mind forever and continues to shape who I am today. It was tough coming back, and I must say that I don't think I ever fully "recovered"; the constant itch to get out and discover new things... the never-ending restlessness that urges you to move. Nevertheless, I wouldn't trade that year for anything and I strongly believe that every person should study abroad for at least a semester; it helps you grow and to discover who you truly are. For the first time in a long time I believe it's safe to say that I am content with my quiet life right now... and that contentment has taken me a LONG time to rediscover.
If I am to offer one piece of advice, that is to never regret the decisions you make; if you want to do something, go for it, because you never know when that opportunity will arise again.

This weekend has been great. Friday night, while I was lounging in my pjs watching TV with my roomies, I suddenly received a ton of notifications on my Instagram. Confused, I checked my home page, only to discover that ModCloth had reposted a photo I had submitted! I was ecstatic! It is very cool to find out that something you put together was well received by others. On that note, Sunday, after a wonderful day of shopping for my Halloween costume (oh you just wait... it is AWESOME), I checked the ModCloth Pinterest page and, what do I see, but another one of my pictures that they reposted!! YAHOO!! Thank you ModCloth. I am very grateful for shout outs. I truly appreciate it.
Saturday the girls and I went on a little tour of Kensington Market in Toronto where I got to show both of them its cute little boutiques and renowned boho atmosphere. This was where Dayna took some of my pictures! Enjoy!
